Wearside AS barely lasted a year: it was formed by a group of people with no experience of running open shows, so the TTAA council sent Paul Conway and me to give a talk on running one. The club met in the committee
room of the association, and all sat around a very long table. We found the members friendly and enthusiastic. At the end of the talk the TTAA presented them with a copy of
Brian Risbridger's booklet, 'Running an
Open Show', for which they were very grateful. Their show, later that year, ran like clockwork and was a great success. We heard that there were financial problems after the show and the club folded a few weeks
