Open Show:      CUAS had  the most successful shows ever put on in the TTAA region  with over 800 entries. Benching was at eye-level due to the use of scaffolding, erected and supplied by a club member. The height of the exhibits necessitated a steward who's sole role was to follow around a vertically challenged judge with a box to stand on.  The second show in 1980, schedule on left, set out to top the previous year's with a diner dance and a whole host of entertainment on the day. Ten judges were invited to deal with the expected influx of exhibits. Shows were held at Chuter Ede Community Association, Perth Green Community Association and present day Open Shows are held at The Charles Young Centre, Talbot Road, South Shields.

Additional Information:
CUAS is the oldest club in the TTAA region, having been in existence for over 30 years (formed 1978). It was twinned with Gesselschaft fur Aquarien und Terrarienkunde - Wuppertal (GATW) in Germany and many exchange visits took place. CUAS's association with this club brought about a gift of the first Odessa Barb to be brought into this country.
