Birtley club commissioned these magnificent trophies for one of their shows. They were made of glass and etched with the pattern seen opposite.
'Their shows were always one for the calendar, I have a video of one show from there chairman Davey. The show hall was a big and well lit venue, and the auction hall huge. My other half still remembers winning the 'Ahead of the Shoal Trophy' for winning the biggest supported class, class O, of 48 entries. The society often opened its bus trips to other societies, their trips to Kircauldy open are still talked about 15 year later.' Robbie Kirkup
