Additional Information:
This club was formed by
George Liddle in Bimbis fish and chip restaurant which he managed. When George moved on, Paul, an FBAS Judge, and Merial Conway took over the club and moved it to the Community Association in
Felling Square. 4 or 5 open shows and auction were held in this dimly lit venue. Bimbi always had a good size membership who were always willing to help out at shows. On one memorable occasion, the poor lighting
- we'll give the judge the benefit of the doubt, led to unusual finish to a show. Judging had finished and most of the judges had left when it was discovered a judge had judged for right to left when the judging
sheet had been filled in left to right. I was nominated to re-judge the class, and the room had to be cleared. I finished judging and, instead of thanks, was met with a barrage of insults from exhibitors
wanting to get home, most think the fault was mine. PB
Bimbi used this tableaux for two Festivals at the
Crowtree Leisure Centre. After some complaints, the realistic looking doggy-doo was removed and did not reappear the second year. Paul Barrow
