During the early 80s, the Three rivers was held at the Crowtree Leisure centre in Sunderland. Tableauxs and stands were set up on the Friday, which was a social
occasion in itself with good humoured banter and different societies helping each other. As
usual, there was a pre-Festival dance where anyone-who-was-anyone from the FBAS and TTAA attended.
The prize were awarded by Dr David Ford of Aquarium on Sunday. Along with Aquarian products, Major Award badges, shown below, were also given to class winners. .gif)

Beneath the basket ball hoop is Mount Pleasant's stand with the Fancy Guppy Association next to it. To the left in the foreground is the stand of South Shields AS.
Bottom right is the Punch & Judy tableaux of Sunderland, at the top of the hall is Aquarian's advisory stand. To the
left of Aquarian is the Throckley stand, and below the scoreboard, is Redcar's gnome stand.
