STAMPS 2nd FUNDAY DAY, 22nd AUGUST 2009
Text by Paul Barrow

STAMPS, and invited gests, massed at the Charles young Centre for the second annual STAMPS Funday.
The pot luck lunch was oversubscribed, despite John Douthwaite's best efforts, with a range of bought & home made goodies. Tea & coffee was provided by the Charles Young Centre.
A sales table for fish was present but mostly empty because the good quality fish on sale were quickly snapped up.
Amy Charters & Bethany King made items for sale, Bethany, with granddad's help, sold these items and second-hand goods provided by club members. The excellent 2010 calendar sold out within the first hour, and most of the STAMPS/Ryedale key rings also went.
The talk was again given by David Marshall who used his extensive knowledge of westerns to produce a very clever and enjoyable talk based on the Magnificent Seven. He illustrated the talk with many photos of STAMPS and Ryedale members, as well as lots of new fish which are being kept in the Czech Republic.

Presentations:
John & Stella Cowan could not be at the Funday, so were presented with their Certificate of Honorary Membership at Solway Show.
David & Sue Marshall were presented with their Certificates of Honorary Membership by Ken Scott. Honorary membership is presented to people who are not club members but have contributed to, and present the club in a positive manner.
Noreen Willits was presented with a group photograph taken at the presentation of our cheque to the Charles Young Centre. This was for the help given to the club over the years.
