Ken
Scott (1942-2011)
Pam
& Ken on their Honeymoon Cruise
Gentleman Ken Scott
How
can I possibly do justice to a man who was a friend to everyone. A quiet spoken
man who truly loved his family & life even though life dealt him the
cruellest blow possible health wise.
In 1994 after an horrendous heart condition leaving him needing four By-passes
accompanied by a severe lung condition he was told he had only five years
to live. His wife Florence nursing him ironically developed cancer and her
good friend Pam helped Ken nurse her but Florence died within months. Life had
already thrown a cruel spanner in the works because Pam’s husband George died
of the same unforgiving disease leaving Ken & Pam to be a crutch for each
other, these good people certainly did not deserve this.
Their friendship eventually turned to love for each other & Ken the true
gent asked both families permission before asking Pam for her hand in marriage.
They didn’t have many years together, each one looked on as a bonus but they
had many happy memories, outstanding holidays + the love of their lives, their
Grandchildren. I haven’t the intelligence to express what I thought of Ken but
I thank God I was allowed to be part of his life. R.I. P. Ken. Thank
you for the memories.
Bede.
