Phallocerus caudomaculata reticulatus (Spotted Phallocerus)

Additional Information: Imported size 25mm. The genus name is tagged to the male and his unfeasibly long gonopdium! Without that and the attractive blue eye, they look similar to Gambusia affinis holbrooki, but without the habit of fin nipping fins. Three colour forms are known: a clear body with a tail-spot, speckled all over and a gold form.  Gestation and care similar to the guppy.

Poecillia wingei (Endlers Livebearer)

Water Temperature:   20-36°C
Water Chemistry:   above pH7 preferred
FBAS Size: 20mm (male) 40mm (female)
FBAS Class:  O
Additional Information: The name of Endlers opens a huge door to colour variations; ‘how many bars doe the fish have?’ ‘the colour of the bars?’ and tail shapes?. These are wild caught from Guatemala and came to me from a couple of guys in Dundee, and they breed absolutely true, unlike the many you will find on e-bay. Needless to say they should not be kept with guppies (reticulata) branneri, picta or any other strain of wingei/endler, or you will end up with hybrids! Breeding is the same as guppies. The females are round tailed and without colour and males are metallic yellow with black stripes and show a trace of top sword.
