Distribution:  widespread
Habitat:  prefers the slower moving water in rivers.
Food:  any type of dried or frozen foods taken, prefers large live food such as earthworms
Water Temperature:   0-30°C
Water Chemistry:   around pH 7, good aeration needed as this is a river fish.

Additional Information: The British rod-caught record for this fish is 3.9kilos which suggests it grows bigger than the FBAS size.
