Additional Information (Guatemalan Collection): The name of Endlers opens a huge door to colour variations; how many bars does the fish have? the colour of the bars? and tail shapes?. These are wild caught from Guatemala and came to me from a couple of guys in Dundee, and they breed absolutely true, unlike the many you will find on e-bay. Needless to say they should not be kept with guppies (reticulata) branneri, picta or any other strain of wingei/endler, or you will end up with hybrids! Breeding is the same as guppies. The females are round tailed and without colour and males are metallic yellow with black stripes and show a trace of top sword.
Text By Robbie Kirkup
Additional Information (Venezuelan Collection): This strain was collected by late Derek Lambert in Venezuela, and has been maintained by three Yorkshire aquarists over the last decade- or-so. They exhibit totally different colours to that of the Guatemalan strain shown on another page.  Like the wild guppies readily available last centaury, they show a remarkable variation in marking, colours & fin shape with in a breeding population and regional variation. The cross-bred readily with other Guppy-like fish such as P. reticulata P. branneri & P. picta. Many have no been hybridized with P. reticulata to produce much bigger fish for showing and use in display tanks.
