Additional Information: This fish belongs to the Cod-like fish, having a single chin barbel. It differs from most cods because it lives in freshwater. It is similar too, but much smaller than the rockling found around the coast and in estuaries of the British Isles. They became extinct in the British Isle during the last centaury, but have since been introduced in the south of England.
